The cat lapping up the milk in this image is Patches. She is twenty-two years old. She has lived all of her years in the home of my brother and his wife. She has had access through her lifetime to outdoor as well as indoor living on their two-acre property in the Rio Grande Valley north of El Paso. Patches has lived well — hunting, relaxing, bossing dogs — and continues to lap up the good life, as her relish for milk displays. She is a terrific role model for aging.
