This picture arrived in the daily flurry of viral emails that I exchange with some others who enjoy sending stuff around. I have no idea who the little boy is — or know anything about the dog. The email was titled “Picture of the Year.” It has my vote for that award.

Aaron writes from Roy, Utah on October 13, 2008: “My guess is that there is 15 – 18 inches of snow in this picture. I would have never believed is was possible to have ‘lake effect’ snow off of the great salt lake until we experienced it yesterday. If you go five miles north or south there is maybe 4 inches of snow.”
This lovely capturing of color by Madeline is a window of expression from the creativity of a three-year-old. One suspects that through the years ahead we will be treated to more views of God’s beautiful creation through this now young talent.
