Daniel David Barney (1830-1900) was the father of Francis Amelia Barney (1854-1927), who was the mother of Olive Jane Roblee (1875-1960) who was the mother of Louis William Breck, Sr. (1909-1993). Known as David Barney, Louis Breck recalled that his great-grandfather was an Irish lumberjack — which may be incorrect.
It is likely that David is descended from the prominent Nantucket Barney whaling family, a connection yet to be documented.
